What are the major differences or conflicts between non-atheistic worldview and your own?
Non-theism is any belief in a personal god. A passage of Romans 2 is often used to prove that God’s laws are written on everyone’s conscience including that of atheists. John, (2000) wrote that people who want to live ungodly, careless and immoral lives do not care about acknowledging the existence of God.
Majority of atheists believe many biblical teachings tend to lower their standards since they glorify actions like killing of the homosexuals and the minority groups. With time, atheists discovered that the former followers of different religion beliefs believed that the entire nature and seasonal changes are under control of supernatural existence .They attribute the occurrence of all these to the supernatural forces(Parker,2006).
Christians argue that the atheists deliberately have no acceptance for the reigning of the almighty God and that they lean on their immoral conduct which with no doubt they have to part from in order to gain God’s acceptance. Therefore atheists should admit Godly criticism for their deviant belief.
2. How might your approach differ to evangelizing to someone of a non-atheistic religion differ from that of a theistic one?
According to Fowler, (1981) his theory focuses on introduction of faith which has had remarkable influences on religious understanding, psychological view and pastoral background. His introduction of ‘faith stages’ has possibly brought attempts to measure the gradual development of faith.
Use of examples to preach can divert non-atheisms faith for example Ruth the Moabite’s widow was rewarded when she entered Boaz’s field though she was not aware of God’s sovereign guidance (Ruth 2:3). Some sources stress that faith in a supernatural power is a major area of conflict in terms of behavior and ways of governance. These two disciplines seek support in this kind of power.
