Through viewing of criminal scenes on television can cause children to grow thinking that criminal acts are acceptable in society. A parent who understands this can regulate what the children watch and therefore prevent them from being tempted to take part in criminal acts.
Weakness is another cause of crime. This weakness causes human beings to act on their emotions rather than using logical thinking. Studies have shown that people who grow up in dysfunctional families grow to disrespect other people. There are bound to commit crime since they have no love for such others. The family as an institution therefore has a large role to play in ensuring that it nurtures love and respect among its members. This will in turn reduce the chances of the children becoming criminals. This is so because the children will grow to love and respect other people and would therefore not want to harm them.
Poor judgment is another cause of crime. People who fail to attain proper education or those who do not have good role models may have difficulties in making judgment. They normally cannot differentiate between right and wrong. At other instances they are aware of the wrongness of their actions but they think they can get away with it since they do not have sufficient education on law matters. The problem can be resolved ensuring that people attain some basic education on matters.
